Who'd A-Thunk A Thursday.....
...could be so great? I got a call this morning from one of my lieutenants at work. He called to advise me I got the detective job I was competing for! YEA!!!!!! I officially start on January 1, but he said he's trying to get me in there for a little while before then so I can get started on learning the job. I'm so excited! Mike's thrilled for me, too. It's a plain clothes assignment (think shopping, gals!) and I'll be getting some great training and experience. The position is a rotational one, so I'll have it for 4 years. It's a day shift job, but I'm pretty sure I'll be working a day mid-watch, depending on how the shift bids go. I'll have to learn how to sleep at night again, too. But, no matter what the hours are, it's got weekends off, so that's a bonus. I'm SO looking forward to the work. It'll be different from patrol, but I think there's a lot to be gained from it. I'm really looking forward to being able to use my brain in a different capacity.
On the IVF front, we're still waiting for AF to rear her ugly head. She should've paid a visit around Wednesday if I were a 28-day type of gal, but lately my unmedicated cycles have run about 35 days. And I just read that the Lupron can delay them up to 7 days as well. So when I had acu on Wednesday, Hannah hit some points to try to bring AF a-callin'. If I don't have CD1 by Saturday, I'm supposed to call the center to see what they want to do.
The Lupron shots haven't been too bad. I still don't care for giving them to myself, but after the bruise Mike gave me two days ago, I'll keep trying! Just kidding... he couldn't help it and I've done that to myself, too. The only problems I really have with them are the hot flashes and the insomnia. Hannah took care of some of the insomnia, too. Oh, and the fact that I have to be up at 0730 to get them. That sucks this week because I'm on vacation. I'm sure next week won't be so bad.
Okay... I'm off of here now. Talk to you all soon!

Gwen,
I just thought I would let you know that I am reading your blog. My name is Marie. I worked with Mary Ellen at Nationwide for a while. I had ggg triplets last December.
Hey, Marie! Thanks for posting! I hope you and the babies are doing well. You'll have to let me know when you're bringing them to Mary El's to visit. I've heard so much about them!

Congradulations! Dublin Detective! We are very happy for you, it will get some getting used to sleeping when it is dark! No more uniforms for awhile. Shopping? I'd love to accompany you. Love you- Mom and Dad
It just shows you that AF has to be woman - when you want her she's nowhere to be found - when you pray not to have her she's knocking at your front door - gee kind of reminds me of somebody ---??? Things are falling into place, you guys are head and shoulders better off than you were a year ago, work wise, I smell success in the air!!! Fingers crossed. Love dan and lisa
